During the January meeting the Garwin Lions Club acknowledged members with perfect attendance for 2012. Lion members receiving recognition were Ron Smith, Mark Polich, Keith Barloon and Merle Parks. It was a 50 year milestone for Lion Merle Parks. He has achieved the 50 year juncture as a Garwin Lion member - with a perfect attendance record!
During the business meeting plans were discussed concerning the Annual BBQ Supper. The event will be held on Saturday, April 5. The site is yet to be determined. Jim Sandquist was welcomed as a new member of the Garwin Lions Club.
Installation of the electronic sign at the four way stop in Garwin is nearing completion. It is expected that the electrical panel will be connected soon. Landscaping will be done this summer. A committee has been established to control the sign use. This includes ads placed, posting business and personal donations made for the ad sign.

The Lions Club is looking for poles on which to install lights on the Little League Field (Akers Field). Anyone having a pole to donate should contact Lion Mark Polich.
The Garwin Methodist Women served a delicious meal. The next meeting will be held at 6:30PM on February 14 at the Garwin Christian Church.
