Gifts of Grace Owner, Carolyn Moe, Looking for Buyer

It’s time to make a change.  Owner, Carolyn Moe is ready to transition out of full time service at your corner gift shop.  Her hope is to find a buyer, who wants to keep some of the current Christian services to the community, while making it into a new place offering new possibilities.  Please consider this possibility for yourself or suggest it to friends or family wanting to return to our great small-community, Gladbrook! Carolyn started Gifts of Grace LLC in the summer of 2004, believing there was a need for a Christian gift and bookshop to serve this area.  “It has been a blessing to work with many excellent employees and hundreds of customers in the past eight years.”  Adding the coffee shop, which gradually turned into a special lunch destination added a new dimension to their work.  Some of the other services they provide are tuxedo rentals, dry cleaning, watch battery replacement, greeting cards, books & Bibles, napkin imprinting and office/school supplies.  Some of the most meaningful contributions have been their windows dedicated to the community: remembering our loved-ones at Memorial Day, uplifting and encouraging you to be a part of the benefit for Noah Ohrt and encouraging the excellent work of the 4-H youth.  Gifts of Grace has been the site for meetings, bridal showers, Christmas parties, and reunions.  Personal one-on-one encouragement and a comforting atmosphere have been a goal of their care for the surrounding area.  They have hosted live vocal, piano and praise band music, several Alpha Courses, exploring basic life questions, and currently the H.A.N.D.S. Prayer Shawl Ministry, distributing comforting shawls and messages to many in the area.  It is Carolyn’s hope that at least some of these services might still be available. Full time store ownership doesn’t leave much time to enjoy grandchildren living far away, so the time has come to make a change.  The store is available for gradual transition to a similar store, or a new owner can make the changes necessary to offer a new business for the area.  Please stop in to discuss the possibilities if you are thinking about a business of your own or contact Tama Co. Economic Development Director, Heath Kellogg.  You will also be working with building owners, Mike & Lori Bearden as we all think about new or growing possibilities. Carolyn said, “Remember, this won’t happen today or tomorrow.  Please don’t stop coming in to see us and let us know your needs.  Tell us what kind of a store you would like to see this location become.  What you may see is not as many new things in the inventory and some change in our open hours after the first of January.  What you won’t see is a reduction of our service and care for you as our area communities.  Thank you for your continued support and business as we work through this transition.  Blessings.”  Contact information: Gifts of Grace LLC, Carolyn Moe, business owner 400 2nd Street, Gladbrook, IA 50635 Phone:  641-473-2335,  Heath Kellogg, Tama Co.
