Lucy Dewitt and Mary Lynne Bearden hosted the November 21st UMW meeting, with 12 ladies present.  President June Klinefelter opened the me eting with prayer. Marcy Knaack gave the Thanksgiving devotions and Joyce Bruene presented the World Thanks Offering program.  Our group presented 21 health kits, 1 sewing kit, 88 school kits, 22 layettes and 716 school bags (made by Martha Gamble) to the ingathering.  On a motion by RoseMary McKinney and seconded by Joyce Bruene the money collected for the solar ovens will be presented to purchase 10 ovens plus the three from an anonymous donor before the first of the year.  Les Kneeland has a change of address since he is now residing in a nursing home and the Howard Lords have moved to Indianola.  Kay Lowry will prepare the Christmas treat bags for the children in the church.  The windmill construction workers collected canned good for our local food pantry.  This gesture was very much appreciated.  The Christmas luncheon will be December 19th; everyone was reminded to sign up for this event.  Rachel Koester made a motion and seconded by RoseMary the Christmas project will be the local food pantry, Bidwell, Hawthorne Hill and Schessler Hall.  The Angel Tree will be out the first two Sundays of December.  Everyone was asked to remember Kevin Chizek on the prayer list and let Barb Strohbehn if there are names that need to be added to the Christmas Card list.  Marcy received the door prize.  The meeting closed with the group reading the UMW Purpose.
