Dear Editor: November is National Hospice and Palliative Care Month, a time to raise awareness about the compassionate care from hospice and palliative care providers. In and around the Cedar Valley there are multiple hospice and healthcare providers, all focusing on comfort, dignity and respect to those coping with a serious or life-limiting illness. Hospice professionals and trained volunteers provide expert care to keep patients comfortable and informed. Emotional and spiritual support is offered and we help family members with caregiving so that you can be the spouse, sibling, son or daughter. It is important to us that all questions are clearly answered regarding the illness and care choices. Cedar Valley Hospice provides care wherever one resides - your own home, nursing home, assisted living facility, hospital or our Cedar Valley Hospice Home. Care is available to people of any age, any illness and regardless of ability to pay. If you or a loved one is facing a serious or life-limiting illness, the time to find out more about hospice and palliative care is right now – Because it’s about living!
