Parents Night By:Cheyenne Wurr Parent’s night for GMG will be Friday 19, 2012. At the half time of the football game the parents of the seniors for football, dance, and cheerleading are going to be reconized. The seniors that are being recognized need to be at the football game Friday night. Congrats seniors!

Picture Retakes by Eric Lada Picture retakes for GMG will be on Wednesday, September 24th. The pictures are by Life Touch. They will be doing the retakes at the Elementary School first in the morning and then at the High School when they are finished with the Elementary. If you did not like your pictures then return your old pictures and get some retakes.

GMG vs S. Hardin By: Alex Prusha On October 8, 2012 GMG varsity volleyball girls played South Hardin at home. Mikaella Koster had 4 assists and 1 dig. Olivia Barritt had 1 kill. Mackenzie Burt had 1 kill, 1 assist, and 1 dig. Jennifer Borota had 1 dig. Caitlin Appelgate had 3 kills. The game scores were in this order: 4-25, 8-25, 14-25. South Hardin won all three games. It was an intense evening, however, our girls played with a lot of heart.

GMG vs Iowa Valley By: Grant Day GMG lost to Iowa Valley on Friday, October 5th. The game was held at Iowa Valley. GMG had no touch downs. GMG’s best tacklers were Juniors Tyler Krull, tackling 8, and Lucas Catherwood, tackling 7. The Wolverine’s lead rusher was Senior Blake Warren. The final score of the game was GMG-0, Iowa Valley-44.

Upcoming GMG Winter Sports By Gage Fraser Winter sports are just around the corner for jr. high and high school students at GMG. If you are interested in going out for boys basketball, it will be coached by Head Coach Dean Aldrich and Assistant Michael Plett. Girls basketball will be coached by Head Coach Justin Hornberg and Assistant Melisa Dieleman. If you are interested in wrestling at East Marshall, it will be coached by Troy Underhill. If you are a jr. high student and want to go out for a sport, there will also be boys and girls basketball offered and wrestling will be offered at East Marshall as well.

Fall Concert!!!! by Austin Ridout Next week GMG is hosting a 7-12 fall concert. The concert is going to be held at the GMG High School on October 23, which is a Tuesday. This sensation concert has been coordinated by instrumental instructor, Mr. Dan Lastovka, and vocal instructor, Mrs. Sheryl Mullikin. We hope to see you all there! So come out and listen to the beautiful band and voices of the GMG Secondary.

GMG JHVB Vs Clarksville by: Justice Dannen GMG 8th graders played against Clarksville in volleyball on October 9, at GMG. GMG only won one game. It was 21/16. The other two, Clarksville won and those scores were 15/21 and 11/15. One of the best servers of the night was Hannah Hinson with 14/16. The next best was Katie Airey with 12/13. Thank you to whomever went to the game to support our 8th grade JH VB team. Also, a big thanks to Coach Susan Strohbehn for her hard work and dedication with the team throughout the season.

SODA Brittney Everts Come to the last SODA raffle of the year. Also, please support the GMG boy football game. It’s this Friday, October 19, 2012. The team is playing GR, so they need some cheering from the GMG side. The money for SODA goes to the high school after prom this spring. Bring some food or bring some money for the raffle! Hope to see you Friday night!

GMG vs. Clarksville by Brandon Ferris On Tuesday, October 9, the GMG 7th graders went up against Clarksville. GMG lost both games against Clarksville. GMG did not lose by that much in the first game with a score of 14 to 21. In the second game the score was 7 to 21. The lead servers were Haley Stahl with 7 out if 8 hits. Kayla Wilkening served 6 out of 6 hits, and Kaelynne Meling with 4 out of 4 hits. Eve Gallentine contributed 2 out of 2 hits. The girls ended their season, but they have learned a lot their first year of junior high play.
