Passing the gift on

October 1, 2012
Northern-Sun Print
This summer, Ella Mae McTurk, of Gladbrook, donated several afghans she has crocheted to the Prayer Shawl Ministry. There are times, the Prayer Shawl Ministry has families that can use a blanket, so the group decided to donate several of Ella’s afghans to Cedar Valley Hospice. On Tuesday, Spetember 18, Rhonda Hein, Volunteer and Advancement Coordinator for Cedar Valley Hospice came to the Prayer Shawl Minisrty to pick up blankets that would benefit families dealing with cancer. The afghans will be given to patients and families in Tama and Grundy counties and to Hospice Home in Waterloo. The Prayer Shawl Ministry would like to thank Ella for her ongoing gift. Each of Ella’s blankets has it’s own beautiful design and color combinations, it is a true talent and gift she has. It is a wonderful way to pass on this gift to those in need.
