We’re only twenty-five days into school, but boy is everything in full swing -literally! Auditions are done and over with, and practices have begun for the GR Singers. This group, formally know as the Swing Choir, is selective to 25-30 students who perform choreography and sing all genres of music. The GR Singers perform perio-dically throughout the year at musicconcerts, and are a highlight at the G-R Jazz Show. In preparation for their performances, the GR Singers gather for practice every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 7:30. Under the director of Mrs. Amanda Bridges, they have added a service to the community for this upcoming school year. GR Singers will now be the featured representation of the choral music department, and plan to travel to nursing/independent living homes and public events to spread the joy that music brings to all! Their first performance took place Saturday, September 22 from 11:15-12:15 during the Reinbeck Art Festival on Main Street. Keep an eye out for upcoming GR Singers’ events, and make sure to come check them out! These are the following talented students involved: Seniors: Joseph Zimmerman, Cody Ward, Paige Kromas, Cortney Crozier, Abbie Walton, and Erin Wentzien. Juniors: Tyler Wrage, Aaron Shouse, Braden Heithoff, Shelby Yates, Alyssa Christopher, Sadie Walton, Taylor Weida, and Rebecca Franksain.
