The current bridge is closed due to deterioration. Brehm says so far the shouldering has been done on Highways E64, E66, and V18 near Chelsea. As soon as E64 is completed work will start on Highway E49 (the highway between Tama and Montour. Brehm says he is going to experiment with Twitter, and have created an account with the name of “Tama County IA Roads” to help get information to the public. The goal is to include information that may affect people’s routines, such as road closures and the progress of construction projects. Brehm says he encourages all those who know how to follow them on Twitter. In other business a permit was approved for Windstream to do work on Fiberoptics near Irving.
