Mary Appelgate and Kay Lowry hosted the April 18, 2012 UMW meeting with 15 members present.  Diane Mussig gave the Prayer and Self-Denial lesson and Delores Matney gave devotions. Hand towels and wash cloths were collected for the Health Kits. President June Klinefelter opened the meeting with a video called “Solar Oven Partners”, a mission project to Haiti.  The UMW will be a part of this mission project. The December minutes and treasurer report were read and approved. It was decided to discontinue the 80th birthday flower project, but the members will receive a card for their birthday.  The monetary gift for new babies will no longer be a project, but the family will be presented a handmade baby blanket when the child is baptized. Joyce Bruene will be sending birthday greetings to the Pheasant Ridge residents each month. On April 17th group #5 went to Westbrook Acre and entertained the residents with “Name That Tune”, singing old familiar songs and serving ice cream cones.  In January group #1 visited Westbrook Acre and in March group #3 visited Pheasant Ridge. June presented a door prize, a plate of cookies, for the birthday closest to Easter.  Joan Surber and Diane Mussig celebrated a birthday the day before Easter. Everyone was reminded to sign up for the May Breakfast on May 16th.
