April Senior Citizens Dinner

The April Senior Citizens Dinner was held Friday, April 13, at the Gladbrook memorial Building. The event was hosted by the Gladbrook Women’s Club. Thirty-eight seniors were served a delicious meal of Swiss steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, peas and onions, coleslaw, and Black Dirt cake. After the meal Janet Buls of the Hawkeye Valley Area Agency on Aging presented a short program on the agency. Entertainment was provided by the G-R Middle School 7th & 8th grade chorus and their instructor Amanda Bridges. The Women’s Club committee was composed of Sherry Delfs, chairman, Karen Pieper, Marcy Knaack, and Mary Lynne Bearden. Our thanks to Karen Handorf, Joan Raum, and Joyce Bern for helping to serve and clean-up. A special thanks to Chuck Delfs for transporting the chorus and Chuck Bearden for washing dishes.
