The Gladbrook Community Blood Drive held on Tuesday, April 10, sponsored by the Gladbrook United Methodist Church, LifeServe Blood Center, and organized by June Klinefelter of Gladbrook, was a great success. Special recognition goes out to the total of 22 people who made the decision to make a life-saving blood donation. 16 whole units of blood and four double-red units were collected at the blood drive putting them two over their goal. The Blood Center of Iowa joined operations with Siouxland Community Blood Bank in April of 2010 to become LifeServe Blood Center. As one of the 15th largest blood centers in the country, LifeServe Blood Center provides blood and blood products to 87 hospitals across Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota. LifeServe is committed to providing premier service to volunteer blood donors and access to a safe, quality blood supply for hospitals and patients.
