On Sunday, March 11th, Katie Ryherd was honored in Des Moines at the Iowa History Museum for a painting that she did for Youth Art Month. Ryherd was honored alongside sixteen other students from the AEA 267 region. All students received a YAM medal along with a certificate. Alongside Ryherd were her family and art teacher, Kassi Nelson. The painting was displayed at the museum for the month of March. She was able to walk around and look at other students’art, and was “amazed by the talent that Iowa students have to offer.” Ryherd was “very honored to have received an award, and lucky to be a part of something like this.”
