Wednesday evening the Gladbrook-Reinbeck School Board held a public hearing for anyone in the community to object to the 2012-13 budget as it was published in the local newspapers. Board Secretary Deb Oleson said she had not received any written or oral objections. Total resources and expenses for the 2012-13 budget will be $10,511,129. Taxes levied on property will bring in a revenue of $2,815,871. The tax rate is $11.65, a $ .50 decrease from 2011-12. Instruction is a big portion of the budget and is estimated at $5,010.000. The board also approved the carpet bid from Frederick’s Furniture of Grundy Center foro $4,675 to carpet 2 elementary rooms at the Gladbrook campus.
