Northern-Sun Print
Eleven members of the Garwin Modern Homemakers met Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at the home of Ethel Lucht. President Kathy Thurston opend with all standing to give the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Then she read two readings. Verna Stamp’s question for roll call was, “have you enjoyed the early Spring, and have you planted any flowers yet.” The minutes for March were read and approved. No old business. New business, May meeting has been delayed. Pat Ambler received a beautiful plant for her 60th wedding anniversary. Kathy read a thought provoking piece called “When I thought you weren’t looking.” Then she turned the meeting over to Shirley Lewis for the program. Shirley read a piece from the newspaper about the Easter Egg Rool at the White House. She also read four other readings and jokes, then she and Ethel had us play 7 Up-7 Down. Judy Beane was the winner. Ethel served a delicious dessert with sparkling grape drinks, coffee, and an assortment of candies and nuts.
