A Hunting We Will Go...By: Betty Dahms

It was a cool morning on Saturday, April 7, for the Gladbrook Young Women’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Gladbrook City Park, but that didn’t stop the many egg hunters that gathered to hunt up the hundreds of eggs left by the Easter Bunny the night before. Easton Sash, 2 1/2 year-old son of Craig and Autumn Sash of Gladbrook, said, “ I just want to get the eggs and slide on the slide.” “He’s ready to go” said his uncle, Blaze Wurr, “it’s hard keeping him from getting a jump start on everybody.” Big kids and the young ones scoped out the territory and planned their strategy to get the most eggs. The entire park was filled with the candy filled eggs and when the time came for the start everyone was on the move to fill their baskets. As an added bonus each child was given an Easter picture to color and the finished picture can be taken to the Gladbrook Theater for a free pass to any movie that they want to see. The hunt is one of the community events the Gladbrook Young Women put on each year with the focus on families and the dozens of children took part this year.
