Caitlin Appelgate, GMG Sophomore, performed at the Iowa High School Speech Association All State Speech Festival at UNI on March 26. She was selected to perform her Prose, “Bye, Bye Baby”.  Following Opening Ceremonies, the students show-cased their talents as they performed in thirteen different centers before a guest judge. Critic for Caitlin’s center was Dr. Elizabeth Lamoureux of Buena Vista University, Storm Lake, IA. Caitlin was accompanied by her parents, Merle and Jane Appelgate and her brother, Seth. He represented GMG as a two time performer at the Festival and is now a second year student at ISU. This is a very prestigious honor as there were 9,000 students who began the Individual Speech Contest journey. Only 464 were selected to perform at All State Festival. Coach for GMG is Margaret Thomsen. Pictured are Caitlin Appelgate and Dr. Elizabeth Lamoureux.
