Harvin Langenbau, rural mail carrier, who resides in Garwin, Iowa, has reached a big milestone in getting the mail out to the residents south of Garwin. Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stayed this courier from the swift completion of his appointed rounds of one million miles. Harvin, who was a part-time driver for five years and a full time carrier for 22 years has really enjoyed all those miles. Harvin says he does like the office work, but, “when I get out on the road, that is what I really enjoy. I have a very scenic route south of Garwin, and I enjoy traveling it everyday.” Pictured with Harvin is Gladbrook’s Postmaster, Jim Husak, presenting Harvin with his Million Mile Club plaque.
