Gladbrook pool gets new manager FREE swim on February 26

It’s starting to feel like spring outside. Only a few more months till the hot Iowa summer will be in full swing. If you have had all the cabin fever you can stand and dream of sunny afternoons by the pool the city of Gladbrook has the cure for you! Our pool, located in the G-R school building, will be open for the spring season. In addition to open swim we hope to host adult swim/aquaerobics, swimming lessons, and lifeguard training. On February 26 from 1-5 pm there will be a FREE swim in conjunction with the Fitness Center open house. The Fitness Center will be open to the public for equipment demos, membership sign-up and renewal from noon to 2 pm. Use of the pool during open hours is included in your fitness membership. Non-members can purchase a $3 day pass for swimming sessions. In March, May, and June the pool will be open to the public Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:30 until 6 pm. On weekends hours are 1 to 5 pm. The pool can also be rented for private parties. We are currently hiring lifeguards and WSIs for pool activities. Kate Poling will be managing the pool this season and is looking forward to building a great team. Kate has previously guarded for Camp Sacajawea Girl Scout camp, the Iowa 4H Center, and the Story County Conservation Board.
