Wedding-Larsen/Currie

Kipp and Nancy Larsen of Gladbrook and John and Laurie Currie of Odebolt, are proud to announce the marriage of their children, Chelsey Christina Larsen and Steven John Currie. Vows were exchanged on Saturday, September 17, 2011, at 4:00 p.m. at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis with Pastor Eric N. Youngdahl officiating. Grandparents of the bride are Dale and Janice Larsen of Cedar Falls, and Marjorie and the late Paul Strunk of Clinton. The groom’s grandparents are Olympia and the late Stuart Currie of Odebolt and Marvin and Phyllis Lorenzen of Ida Grove. The bride chose her sisters as Matrons of Honor, Lindsay Larsen of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Hayley Schick of West Des Moines. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Tesar of Des Moines, Mallory MacGibbon of Minneapolis, and Natalie Kotzian of St. Paul, Minnesota, all friends of the bride. The bride’s personal attendant was Megan Struyk of Omaha, Nebraska. Mark Currie of Overland Park, Kansas, was his brother’s Best Man. Groomsmen were David Currie, brother of the groom from Fort Collins, Colorado, Thomas Down from Oxford, Iowa, Jeff Siebrecht from Des Moines, and Nick Fischenich from Maple Grove, Minnesota, friends of the groom. Ushers for the couple were friends of the groom, Tyler Hogue from Ankeny, Paul Bloyer from Onalaska, Wisconsin, Josh Ness from St. Louis Park, Minnesota, and Tyler Schick, brother-in-law of the couple from West Des Moines. The wedding party processed to Fanfare by Lemmens played on the pipe organ and trumpets by Doug and Jeff Currie, uncle and cousin of the groom. The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father. Johanna Carey, relative of the bride from Marion was the flower girl. The ring bearer was Axton Miller, relative of the groom from Odebolt. A duet of When I Say I Do by Matthew West, was sung by Hayley Schick and David Currie while the couple lit the unity candle. Readers for the service were Brent Larsen, uncle of the bride, from Houston, Texas, and Susan Fisk, aunt of the groom, from Frederick, Colorado. Hostesses were Laura Vander Tuig of Des Moines, friend of the bride, and Angie Currie, from Overland Park, Kansas, sister-in-law of the couple. Following the ceremony, a reception dinner and dance was held at the Edina Country Club, Edina, Minnesota. The newlyweds honeymooned in Hawaii and now make their home in Plymouth, Minnesota. Mr. and Mrs. Currie are employed by Ernst and Young in Minneapolis. Chelsey is an auditor and Steve is in Information Security.
