The Gladbrook Community Blood Drive held on Tuesday, January 31, at the Gladbrook United Methodist Church, sponsored by the Gladbrook Women’s Club and LifeServe Blood Center was a great success. Special recognition goes out to all the volunteer blood donors who participated. A total of 27 people registered to donate blood and 21 units of blood were collected. These donors made a valuable contribution during January, which is designated as National Blood Donor Month. Since 1970, January has been designated as National Blood Donor Month to remind the public about the importance of donating blood. National Blood Donor Month is also a great opportunity to thank blood donors for the role they play in providing safe and adequate blood supply to hospitals in their communities. June Klinefelter and Gladbrook Women’s Club helped organize and sponsor the blood drive and plan to have another one on Tuesday, April 10, 2012.
