Garwin Modern Homemakers

Ten members of the Garwin Modern Homemakers met Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at the home of Verna Stamp. President Kathy Thurston opened the meeting with a reading about some things you might not think of as being female or male. Donna Tichy had roll call. Her question, “Was there some way your Christmas this year was extra special.” The minutes of December 13, 2011 were read. No old business. New business, Vivian Levier mentioned talking to Darlene Bovenmyer that she had made reservations for June 2013 at The Farm House in Newton. Next month’s meeting at Vivian LeVier, roll call, Bev Judge, and program Ethel Lucht. Kathy read Miss Malaprop’s Kin. Kathy had the program. It was a game called 5 Second Rule. We broke into groups of three. Each group had five seconds to answer. The questions were different categories, and had to name three things on that category in five seconds. Vera served a delicious dessert called West Haven Cake with whipped topping, along with punch and coffee. Janet Abbe Secretary/Treasurer
