“Rebels Defeat Cobras” The Rebels played host to the Cobras of BCLUW on January 17, 2012 in the friendly confines of the Gladbrook gymnasium. First quarter play saw the Rebels jump out early with a 16-3 advantage. The second quarter saw much of the same production as we took a sizable 35-8 lead into the locker room at half time. Third quarter action saw the Rebels continue the scoring while trying to work on our half court game. At the end of three stanzas the score stood with a 50-14 lead. The fourth quarter saw a much slower pace as the Rebels and Cobras combined for only 8 points. As the final horn sounded the Rebels were on top with a 54-18 score. Entering the scoring column for the Rebels were the following: Tyler Pierce - 6 pts., Parker Bown-2 pts., Erik Knaack-6 pts., Joe Smoldt-22 pts., Matt Roeding-12 pts. and AlexTscherter-6 pts.

“Rebels Down Tigers” The South Hardin Tigers visited Gladbrook on January 19, 2012 and returned home after a defeat by the Rebels. Opening the first period the Rebels took the court running as they took sizeable 19-2 lead at the break. Second quarter action was much less of a scoring barage as the Rebels managed only 4 points as they held a 23-4 lead at half time. Starting in the third period, the Rebels picked up scoring as we outscored the Tigers 12-2 going into the fourth quarter. The last period saw the Rebels in “slow down mode” as we tried to get maximum scoring opportunities for everyone included in the game. In the end the Rebels came away with a 43-6 win in our last home game.
