January 20, 2012
The Gladbrook Women’s Club and LifeServe Blood Center invites everyone in the community and surrounding area to participate in National Blood Donor Month by making a life-saving blood donation at the Gladbrook Community Blood Drive to be held Tuesday, January 31, 2012, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., in Fellowship Hall of the Gladbrook United Methodist Church located at 715 Lincoln Street, Gladbrook. For more information or to schedule an appointment to donate, please contact June Klinefelter, representing the Gladbrook Women’s Club, and organizer of the event, at (641) 473-8012. You may also schedule an appointment online at www.lifeservebloodcenter.org. Since 1970, January has been designated as National Blood Donor Month to remind the public about the importance of donating blood. National Blood Donor Month is also a great opportunity to thank blood donors for the role they play in providing safe and adequate blood supply to hospitals in their communities. The Blood Center of Iowa joined operations with Siouxland Community Blood Bank in April, 2010 to become LifeServe Blood Center. As one of the 15th largest blood centers in the country, LifeServe Blood Center provides blood and blood products to more than 90 hospitals located across Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota. Regular blood donors are encouraged to invite a friend or family member to start the tradition of donating blood.
