Tama County District Court

A Tama couple received deferred sentences on charges of child endangerment in a plea agreement  in Tama County District Court in Toledo on Jan. 5. Steven Ray Dolash,19, and Christa Renee Burns Dolash, 22,  were placed on probation for one year to the Department of Correctional Services and directed to pay $300 supervision fees. They were also both assessed $625 civil penalties by Judge Stephen B. Jackson Jr. The couple originally faced charges of neglect / abandonment of a dependent child.  According to court records, a two-year-old child in the couples’ custody was found near State Street (U.S. Highway 63) in downtown Tama at 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 17, 2011.  The child was wearing only pajama pants and his mother’s shoes. The court record notes the location where the child was found was one-half block north of the Union Pacific Railroad tracks which run through the downtown area. The child could not give its name, parents name or place of residence to authorities. Tama Police Officer Jason Bina field the charges.
