Letter to the Editor-Food Pantry

January 20, 2012
Northern-Sun Print
As we say good-bye to a year of natural disasters and economic turmoil we welcome a new year with hope for a better future for many who are struggling in this economy. The Board of the Northwest Tama County food pantry, housed in the Gladbrook Methodist Church, serving Lincoln, Garwin and Gladbrook, wishes to greatfully thank our combined communities. Many generous individuals, churches, clubs, schoold and organizations have faithfully supported our families who find themselves in an unfortuant crisis. Many of you are aware of our availabilty to the three communities, yet there are persons who are not aware that there is always food assistance available for those who apply through M.I.C.A., DHS, local pastors, school councelors, and concerned citizens. We have had an increase in the number of families needing food and heat assistance. Your gifts of money can be multiplied 10 times with purchases at the Waterloo Food Bank, our local store provides our fresh produce with a Pantry voucher. Your caring and concern for community is commendable. Thank you everyone who has been involved. Patsy Rinz, Director
