Happy New Year from the Rebels! The Rebels have worked hard over Christmas break to fix some of the physical as well as mental fundamentals that plagued us before the break. Hopefully we are where we need to be as we head into the remainder of the season!

Hudson The Rebels started slowly in this game and found themselves down 7-0 with three minutes gone in the first quarter. From that point to the end of the first quarter we out scored Hudson 23-6 to take a 23-13 lead. The Rebels pushed the lead to 52-31 hitting 8 three- point shots in the first half! The second half saw the Rebel defense take its toll on the Pirates as we scored off our press several time and won the game by the score of 88-52. Erin Wentzien scored a season high 16 points! Erin is a good shooter but has not been able to get on track until this game. Paige Thompson also scored 16 followed by Emily Snider with 15, Jenna Roeding 10, Emily Dinsdale 9, Addi Kickbush 9, Emily Stoakes 7, Taylor Flamme 3, and Britt Shinn 3. The Rebels met 4 out 5 of their System Goals; shots taken 80 (96), 3’s taken 35 (37), forced turnovers 30 (35), and shot differential +25 (+48). We did not meet our offensive rebound goal and need to improve in this area to generate points and also get to the foul line!

East Marshall The Rebels lost a hard fought game as they came up just short by the score of 84-82. We were very undisciplined on defense as we committed 32 fouls allowing the Mustangs to score 27 points from the free-throw line! We could not get in front of their senior point guard Abby Nuese who had a career game scoring 38 points. We were able to get up 95 shots for the game, which was 46 more than the Mustangs, but we just could not get them to fall. As poorly as we executed all night we still had a chance to win at the end, but just could not finish the game! Paige Thompson led the scoring with 18, Addi Kickbush finished with 13, Emily Dinsdale 12, Emily Snider 11, Emily Stoakes 11, Erin Wentzien 8, Jenna Roeding 6, and Taylor Flamme 3. Emily Snider had 6 assists and 6 steals to lead us in those categories. Emily Stoakes finished with 6 rebounds, Emily Dinsdale 4, and Paige Thompson 4. The Rebels achieved 3 of their 5 goals but came up short in offensive rebounding and 3’s attempted.
