FAMILY NIGHT for Kids’ Club

December 30, 2011
Northern-Sun Print
On the 16th of November, busy hands and happy hearts worked hard to prepare a meal for their families. Our Kids’ Club kids washed celery and stuffed it with peanut butter, washed carrots, and cauliflower for the veggie tray, moved the cooked hot dogs to the roaster without breaking them, chopped onions for our hot dogs, wrapped silverware, made placemats, decorated tables, cut the bars, arranged the dessert table, etc. etc. An experience like this helps us realize that it’s great to work as a team to accomplish a common goal. Serving others is also one of the most important ways we show that we take God’s commandments seriously! Before we ate the children sang a couple songs, one sweet child told the story of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, another offered a prayer, and all of us (families and K.C. Kids) sang a prayer of thanks for our many blessings. We then headed off to enjoy a wonderful meal with families and friends. We want to thank Hometown Foods for donating 100 hot dogs and 100 buns for our Family Night. Our local grocery store contributes over and over again to support the organizations and businesses in Gladbrook. We benefit in so many ways from their presence in our community. God’s blessings to us all……
