This Week at the Gladbrook Theater
December 30, 2011
This week the movie is one that is based on the award winning and imaginative bestselling book “The Invention of Hugo Cabret.” “Hugo” tells the story of an orphan boy living a secret life in the walls of a Paris train station. With the help of an eccentric girl, he searches for the answer to a mystery linking the father he recently lost, the ill-tempered toy shop owner living below him and a heart shaped lock, seemingly without a key. Come in to the Gladbrook Theater and see this magical tale! The digital projector will be delivered to the theater by the time you are reading this article. We are waiting for delivery dates on the screen, framing, and 3D parts but are still tentatively planning installation the week of January 19 through the 26. We are right at the $80,000 mark with our fundraising. It says a lot for our little community to raise that amount of money in three months’ time. If you haven’t donated and still would like to, please do. At some point in the next few years the carpet will need to be replaced as well as the seats in the theater. Nothing lasts forever! With donations still coming in we can build the funds to replace items as we need to. Until next week, See you at the movies!
