Squiers announces candidacy for supervisor

Luke Squiers, 30, rural Tama, has announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for 3rd District supervisor “to serve the people of Tama County.” Squiers has owned the Outback Campground at rural Tama for the past five years during which time it has been restored and expanded. He has also owned and operated Squiers Logging for the past 11 years. He has served as an EMT on the Tama Ambulance Service for 10 years, is a member of the Tama-Toledo Area Chamber of Commerce, the Reformed Baptist Church, Tama and is a Sunday School teacher at the Mesquakie Friends Center. He grew up in the Haven area southeast of Tama and graduated from Cedar Valley Christian School, Cedar Rapids, in 1999. He and his wife, Brenda, have an eight-month-old child. Brenda is an elementary art teacher in South Tama Schools.
