Alpha Study

December 30, 2011
Northern-Sun Print
Twenty-two members of Alpha Study Club met on December 13 at the Uptown for their Christmas gathering.   Following lunch President Shirley Young opened the festivities with a reading, “The First Christmas” by Laura Huston.  She then dedicated “A Senior Citizen’s Ode to Her Feet” by Wylda Axmear, to Pat Clausen, whom just had foot surgery and was able to attend.   The program committee entertained us with readings of “Christmas in Iowa”, “The Donkey Cross” and “A Gift of the Heart”.     The members also played a game matching Christmas traditions with the Land of Origin of which some members found they were not as savvy about the origins as they thought.  The next meeting will be January 10th at the home of Phyllis Chizek.  Each member left the luncheon with a favor and wishes for a Merry Christmas.
