The second week of the season brought the Rebels (4-0, 3-0) two more victories. Tuesday the Rebels traveled to Ackley and came home with a 75-55 win. On Friday the Rebels hosted BCLUW and won 95-62. AGWSR I knew going into this game we would have a mental hurdle to get over as well as beating them physically on the court. Ackley is a very difficult team to beat, especially on their home court! This group of young ladies had never beaten the Cougars until this game (mental hurdle jumped)! The Rebels were able to jump ahead early in this game finishing the first quarter up 15-11. We were able to increase it to 32-25 at halftime. AGWSR was able to cut it to within 5 late in the third quarter. The fourth quarter saw the constant pressure from the Rebels get to the Cougars as we went on a 19-9 run to seal the win. Once again the Rebels had five players in double figures in scoring for the night. A balanced offensive attack is becoming a trademark for the Rebels and a problem for our opponents! Emily Dinsdale finished with 14, Paige Thompson 13, Emily Stoakes 13, Jenna Roeding 11, Emily Snider 10, Addi Kickbush 8, Taylor Flamme 3, and Erin Wentzien 3. Emily Stoakes pulled down 11 rebounds, Addi Kickbush 5, Jenna Roeding 5, Brittany Shinn 3, Taylor Flamme 2, Paige Thompson 1, Emily Dinsdale 1, and Britney Keller 1. The Rebels were picking the pockets of the Cougars all night as they had 27 steals. Emily Snider stole 7, Emily Stoakes 7, Addi Kickbush 4, Paige Thompson 4, Emily Dinsdale 2, Erin Wentzien 1, Jenna Roeding 1, and Britney Keller 1. The Rebels only turned be ball over 11 times for the game while forcing AGWSR into 44! The Rebels met 4 of their 5 system goals in the ballgame: shots 80 (89), 3’s taken 35 (38), forced turnovers 30 (44), and shot differential +25 (+35).
BCLUW This game saw the Rebel pressure get to BCLUW early as we built a 21-9 first quarter lead. We were up 52-30 at halftime and increased the lead in the second half to win 95-62. Once again 5 players were able to finish in double figures in scoring. Addi Kickbush finished with a tough 20 points, as I thought she player the most physical game of her career! Emily Snider scored 16, Jenna Roeding 15, Emily Stoakes 13, Emily Dinsdale 11, Paige Thompson 8, Erin Wentzien 7, and Taylor Flamme 5. The Rebels are unselfish when it comes to sharing the ball and finding the open girl for the score! This was evident tonight as we finished with 20 assists with Addi Kickbush, Paige Thompson, Emily Stoakes, and Emily Dinsdale each delivering 5. Emily Snider and Erin Wentzien each had 2. The Rebels once again took care of the basketball as they only turned it over 9 times for the game! The Rebels met 3 of their 5 system goals: shots 80 (91), forced turnovers 30 (36), and shot differential +25 (+37).
