Tama County Supervisors will be offering a three year cash lease for two different parcels. Parcel one is for 121 acres of cropland, more or less, at the county farm located in Section 2 of Toledo Township. The second parcel is for ten acres of pasture , more or less, at the county farm located in Section 2 of Toledo Township. Bids for either or both parcels must me submitted with a total price, not a per acre price, before 4:00 p.m. on Friday December 16, 2011. Bids must be mailed or delivered in an envelope marked “SEALED BID” to Tama County Auditor, 104 West State Street, P.O. Box 61, Toledo, Iowa. 523422. Addition information can be gotten at the Tama County Auditors office. The supervisors reserve the right to reject any and all bids. A report on the Tama County Home Ownership Program shows a total of nine homes utilizing the program as of November 14, 2011. Those include one home in Gladbrook, one home in Traer, three homes in Toledo, two homes in Tama with one additional home in Tama in progress and and one additional project application for the final slot which will be for a home in Tama. Funds utilized is in the amount of $240,752.00. Two permits were approved for Poweshiek Water Association for work to be done in Highland Township, Section 20 and Columbia Township, Section 26. A public hearing has been set for December 5, 2011, for a zoning change to properties in the NE SW of Section 10, Howard Township and NW NW of Section 19 of Spring Creek Township. County Engineer Lyle Brehm told supervisors he had quotes for the box and hydraulics independent of the truck chassis he was getting from Hawkeye International. The quote for the box and hydraulics was from Henderson at a cost of $51,738 per unit. Ryan Currens ask for a change in the wording of Tama County Ordinance IV.5 to account for the change in technology, impending addition of texting capability that according to NENA will not be addressed by the state legislature. This change would strike the wording “phone line” and include the word “system”. Claims approved for the past week came to $313,534.08.
