Community Veterans Day

The Gladbrook American Legion Auxiliary hosted a Community Veterans Day Program on Nov. 11th at Westbrook Acres. Americanism Chairman Lisa Reinhard coordinated the program. Auxiliary pianist Sue Koster played   patriotic music before the program. Lisa showed a video about respect for the flag entitled “For Which It Stands”. She also told about famous sports and actors that were veterans. Jeanne Paustian called the names of the veterans present and Lisa honored them with a poppy boutonniere. They were Doc Gamble, Lynn Steiert, & Loren Emke serving in the  US Army and Robert Workman, Harold Arnold, and Bob Slinker sering in the US Navy. Sue played the five military songs. The program ended with all standing, joining hands and singing “God Bless America” Refreshments were served to the large crowd.
