Gladbrook United Methodist Women

The Gladbrook UMW met October 19 at the church. Hostesses were Diane Mussig and Marcy Knaack. Twelve members were present. Anita Elmore opened the meeting with a poem and shared correspondence. Mary Appelgate reported that she, Rachel koester, Avriel Koester, Mary Lynne Bearden, Kay Lowry and Martha Gamble went to Westbrook Acres on Oct. 18. Group 3 plans to go to Pleasant Ridge on Oct. 24. Joyce Bruene announced that the In-Gathering items are assembled. Help is needed to load them. On Sunday, October 16 Anita presented a baby blanket to Scott and Jackie Stevenson for their son, Liam. Mary Appelgate asked everyone to remember the chili supper on November 8. June Klinefelter passed a sign-up sheet for 2012. There are six meetings and a Senior Citizens Dinner in March. There will be an All Church Bake Sale on Nov. 19 at the City Centre with proceeds to be used for church apportionments. Mary Appelgate gave the dovotions and Marilyn Brekke gave the lesson from the book, “Heaven is for Real” by Todd Burpo. The meeting was closed with the Lords Prayer. The next meeting will be November 16.
