KIDS SHOPPING DAY scheduled for December 10
November 11, 2011
WE NEED YOUR HELP Gladbrook area churches and organizations are working together to create an opportunity for our area children to do their own “shopping” this Christmas. With items that are donated by the community, we will create a “Christmas Store” in the Memorial Building, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. where the kids will be able to choose just the right gift/s for family members….without any exchange of money. If you can… Bring *gently used items, *new items, *Christmas wrap, and *ribbon to your church, or to the Ambulance Building, by Friday, December 9th. Donate articles for boys, girls, men and women. We’ll want gifts for all ages. Volunteer to help. *That Saturday we’ll remind the children that Christmas is the birthday of our Jesus; that the first and last gift we give should be a gift to Him; and that the best gift we can give to Jesus on His birthday is our everlasting love. *We will need folks on Friday, the 9th, to help display the gifts for families. *On Saturday, the 10th, we will need volunteers to greet the children, explain the shopping process, help them choose and wrap their gifts, and share the wonderful Christmas message. So…. look through your closets, cupboards, and drawers to see if you can find some treasures that you don’t use or need any more. We will stock our “Christmas Store” to the brim, and together make our KIDS SHOPPING DAY a truly meaningful and fun day! Call 473-2991 or 473-2261 to… ask questions, tell us that you are willing to donate items, or that you want to lend a helping hand the morning of Dec. 10. Let’s keep looking for new ways to take church to our community. We can make a difference.
