The Gladbrook Gals and Guys 4-H Club will be hosting a Tama County Humane Society community fundraiser on Sunday, November 13, 2011, at the Gladbrook Memorial Building.  According to the website of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, approximately 5 million to 7 million companion animals enter animal shelters every year in the U.S., and approximately 3 million to 4 million are euthanized.  The Tama County Humane is a non-profit, no kill animal shelter, located in Tama.   From 11:00 am until 2:00 pm, on November 13th, a pasta bar dinner, including spaghetti, stroganoff, and alfredo pasta options, as well as breadsticks, a salad, drinks and dessert, will be available for a free will donation.  Adoptable dogs and cats from the Tama County Humane Society will available on site to visit.  There will also be TCHS t-shirts for sale!  Feel free to bring donated items for the Humane Society.  They are in need of a number of items for their daily operations and to care for the many companion animals at their facility, waiting to be adopted.  Their needs include paper towels, laundry detergent, bleach, hand sanitizer, canned cat food, dry dog and cat food, kitten chow, scoopable litter, collars and leashes, cat toys, postage stamps, envelopes, and computer paper.  Apart from donated goods, the Humane Society is in need of volunteers.  If you are interested in volunteering at their facility in Tama or would like more information, you can call the Humane Society at 641-481-7001.  The Tama County Humane Society is located at 1406 East 5th St, Tama.  Come support your local animal shelter at the Gladbrook Memorial Building on November 13th!”
