Relatives of Alma Gilchrist gathered during Corn Carnival for a family reunion.  This was the first time in 14 years that all of Alma’s children and grandchildren had been together.  Julia and Chuck Landon, along with their children, Matt and Jen with Jonathon and Alyson Landon, Stephen and Angie Landon, and Marcia Landon and fiancée Tom Hunt came from Colorado Springs.  Jeff and Sharon Gilchrist arrived from Fishers, Indiana. Jeff’s son, David flew in from Nashville. Kris Gilchrist-Dull and husband, Kevin, with daughter Annie, attended from Marshalltown.  Their son, Alex, came from Chicago.   Kelly and Dianne Gilchrist with daughters Kelcey and Molly, traveled from Davenport.  Their daughter, Jamie and Danny Fath, with Alma’s newest great-grandchild, Audra, arrived from Des Moines.while daughter, Alison Gilchrist, came from Ames.  Lisa Reinhard’s children, Jackie, Charlestown, MA, Chelsea of Ames, Jesse and Claire hosted the families at their home.  Alma’s sister Betty, with husband, Ray Wiebensohn, came from Mishicot, WI.  Four of their 5 children and spouses, Laurie, Lynne, Kurt, and Brad, also made the trip. The group enjoyed a buffet meal at the casino on Saturday and met later at the Reinhard home with additional family joining them for the evening.  On Sunday, the entire group gathered for a BBQ at the Reinhard residence.  Sunday afternoon, Alma’s children hosted an Open House in her honor at Peace Church.  A radio theme was used to celebrate “An Oldie but a Goodie- 89.5 ALMA.” It was the perfect day and way to culminate the family get-together.
