Gladbrook Senior Citizens Luau

June 17, 2011
Northern-Sun Print
On June 10th, fifty-four senior citizens attended a luau hosted by the Peace Church Senior Youth Fellowship. Attendees were greeted at the door with a lei as they entered the church social hall decorated in tropical colors. Everyone enjoyed the meal of fruit kabobs, tropical punch, pulled pork, cheesy hashbrown potato casserole, green beans, and molten lava cakes for dessert. After dinner, Barb Walton and Ron Schmidt were selected to lead everyone in the hula dance, complete with a grass skirt and straw beach hat. Colby Luethje and Sierra Osborn lead everyone in a few games of Aloha Bingo, in which three lucky winners received a hula kit and pineapples. The Senior YF would like to thank everyone for attending and also for the generous donations towards their mission trip to St. Louis in July.
