Pauline Flamme, Joyce Bruene, Lucy DeWitt and Bobbi Jo Paige hosted twenty one ladies at the May 18, 2011 May Breakfast. Deb Koester took a group picture for the Church Directory. A table prayer was sung, to the tune of “ Edelweiss.” Anita accompanied . Anita Elmore, President, opened the meeting with a reading “ What Is A United Methodist Woman?” Correspondence was read. The treasurers report was given. It was announced that the UMW will be hosting graduating seniors Baccalaureate . The Gladbrook unit will be sending June Klinefelter to the Christian School of Missions in July. June announced that she and her husband have purchased new drinking glasses for Sunday Fellowship time. Joyce Bruene volunteered to take our old glasses to Goodwill. A thank offer was taken. Diane Mussing gave a mediation “ A Friend is a Gift from God” by Helen Steiner Rice. Sandy Boomer, our shepherdess gave a devotional “ Growing the Soul.” Martha Gamble thanked the group for all that has been given to make our successful In-Gathering contributions possible. Each lady was given a tote bag as an appreciation token. The meeting was closed by reading “Thankfulness.”
