Rebel golfers get 1st win On Monday, April 11, 2011 the Rebel golfers got their 1st win of the year against the North Tama Redhawks.  The Rebels shot a 178 for the night. North Tama came in with a 200.  It was a sunny day, but had a lot of wind which hurt some scores.  The Rebels were led by medalist Kevin Trobaugh with a 41.  Brady Billerbeck was runner up medalist with a 43.  To round out the top four scores were Logan Peteren and Taylor Harris.  The Rebel JV also won 188-200 over the Redhawks.  The JV was led by Jacob Smoldt’s 42.  Cobren Bird had a 47, Logan Koester 48, and Michael Van Hauen 51.  This was the best the JV has played this year.  With more practice and meets I look for good things from these boys in the near future.

Rebels beat the Falcons We didn’t get much time to celebrate the 1st dual win for the Rebels.  On a beautiful Tuesday night the Rebels hosted the A-P Falcons.  The Rebels were victorious again.  The Rebels won the meet 167-177.  Junior Kevin Trobaugh was medalist with a 40.  Brady Billerbeck and Logan Petersen both shot a 41 for the night.  Parker Bolt and Jacob Smoldt also finished with a 45 to help the cause.  The Rebel JV lost to A-P 193-186.  The JV is improving every night out on the course.  With practice and meets these boys will continue to become more consistent and learn more about course management.  The JV was led by Austin Harris with a 45 and Cobren Bird with a 47.  Michael Van Hauen added a 48, Logan Koester and Tanner Vieth both had a 53.  Good effort that just fell a little short.

Rebel Golfers Continue Win Streak On a chilly, windy Thursday afternoon we loaded the bus and headed to LaPorte City for a golf meet with the Union Knights.  The boys were not really excited about playing in the wind and cold, but shot fairly well in spite of the conditions.  The Rebels won the meet 180-191.  Parker Bolt was medalist with a 43 followed by Brady Billerbeck with a 44.  Kevin Trobaugh shot a 45 and Jacob Smoldt finished with a 48.  Great shooting boys! The JV team also got another victory 214-221.  The JV was led by Cobren Bird with a 49.  Logan Koester shot a 52, Michael Van Hauen 53, and Steve Ingham 60.  This was a good win for these boys.  It also gives them more experience in meets which helps them with their golf game.  Great job guys!
