Rebels drop two golf meets by: Chad Bixby
April 15, 2011
On a cold windy night in Jesup, the Rebels dropped their first meet of the year 189-183. This was the first meet of the year and despite being bad weather conditions, the scores were not that bad for their first time out. The Rebels were led by Parker Bolt’s 46. Following Parker were Kevin Trobaugh-47, Brady Billerbeck-48, and Taylor Harris with a 48. The Rebels are looking to improve some of their game by having a little better course management when they head to Conrad for their next meet. Conrad is a course the Rebels generally play well at. The boys won the sectional meet there last year and placed second at the NICL conference meet. However this was not the case on Tuesday. The Rebels and Comets were deadlocked at 172 a piece. The Rebels lost to BCLUW by having to go to the 5th score. That is what happens after there is a tie after the top four scores come in. The Rebels were led by Brady Billerbeck 41, Kevin Trobaugh 41, and Parker Bolt 42. We are still looking for a consistent fourth golfer. It’s still early in the season and with practice and meets, I anticipate finding that golfer soon. Next week the Rebels host North Tama at Oakleaf on Monday the 11th, and then host A-P on the 12th. We then travel to LaPorte City on the 14th.
