On Friday night the Rebels defeated South Hardin by the score of 105-65. The next afternoon we traveled to Garwin and defeated the Wolverines by the score of 101-37 As the season is winding down the Rebels continue to improve on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. Against South Hardin we shot 49% total from the floor and 37% from 3-point range. The next afternoon we shot 53% total from the floor and 33% from 3-point range. These are offensive stats that any coach can definitely live with, especially when you are getting 80 plus shots up a game! Defensively we forced South Hardin into 41 turnovers, and GMG into 46 turnovers. Add those together and we denied our opponents 87 additional looks at the basket and created numerous scoring opportunities for ourselves.
In the South Hardin game we had five players in double figures in scoring and three with 20 plus performances. Lauren Bengen finished with 24, Emily Dinsdale 22, Addi Kickbush 20, Emily Stoakes 14, Paige Thompson 13, Jenna Roeding 7, Emily Snider 4, and Taylor Flamme 1. Jenna led us in rebounding with 12, Lauren 6, and Emily Dinsdale 4. Paige Thompson handed out 10 assists followed by Emily Snider with 6. In the GMG game Lauren finished with 26, Addi 16, Emily Snider 15, Emily Dinsdale 14, Jenna Roeding 9, Paige Thompson 8, Erin Wentzien 7, Emily Stoakes 4, and Britney Keller 2. The big defensive stat in this game centered around steals. Addi Kickbush had 7, Emily Snider and Lauren Bengen 5, Emily Stoakes 4, Emily Dinsdale 3, Paige Thompson 2, and with 1 each were Erin Wentzien, Jenna Roeding, and Taylor Flamme. This coming week we play West Marshall on Monday in a make up game and then we turn around and go to State Center on Saturday, February 12th to play them in the first round of the tournament at 7:00pm.. Our fan support has been terrific this season and the kids really appreciate it. We will need you all again as we finish up the regular season and head into tournament play!!!!
