01/18/11 On the road again, we found ourselves in Grundy Center. This was another very competitive game with the Spartans. Grundy has very good athletes that can get up and down the floor. Our style is to play 92 feet for 32 minutes and Grundy was perfectly willing to play that style. Grundy was able to defeat us by the score of 69-65. We were in position down by just 2 points with 2 minutes remaining but were just not able to finish. A bucket made here or there, or a better free throw percentage (14 for 30) and we win this game. These kids continue to battle no matter what the score is. There is not a player on this team that I would trade for any other player in our league!!!!!!! Paige Thompson scored 21 for the Rebels. I thought Paige played a terrific game as she put this team on her shoulders and tried to get the “W”. She was followed in scoring by Lauren Bengen with 12, Emily Dinsdale 10, Jenna Roeding 9, Addi Kickbush 8, Emily Stoakes 3, and Emily Snider 2. Jenna Roeding led us in rebounding with 7, Lauren Bengen and Emily Stoakes finished with 5 each, Addi Kickbush 4, Taylor Flamme 3, Emily Dinsdale 2, and with 1 each were Emily Snider, Brit Keller, Paige Thompson, and Erin Wentzien. Paige Thompson handed out 4 assists, Addi Kickbush had 4 steals, and Emily Stoakes had 5 blocked shots for the evening.

01/21/11 HOME SWEET HOME!!!!! East Marshall came to town for what turned out to be a wild, high scoring affair. The Mustangs came out fast in this one and they were up on the Rebels by the score of 17-6 with 2 minutes remaining in the first quarter. The Rebels then kicked it into gear and scored 40 points in ten minutes to take a 46-43 lead going into halftime. The Rebels increased their lead to 70-61 at the end of the third quarter. Foul trouble then hit the Rebels as 2 of our players fouled out. This put a bit of a crimp into our rotation and we had to fly by the seat of our pants for much of the fourth quarter. To their credit the Rebels were able to hold on and get the win by the score of 83-77. Total team victory! Paige Thompson had another good night as she continually attacked the basket and finished with 23 points. Lauren Bengen had another steady night as she finished with 18. Addi Kickbush did a nice job of finding her shots and scored 16. Jenna Roeding finished with 6, followed by Emily Snider with 4, Taylor Flamme 3, Emily Stoakes 2, and Erin Wentzien 2. Jenna worked hard on the glass as she pulled down 10 big rebounds, Emily Stoakes had 5. Lauren and Emily Dinsdale each had 4 blocked shots and Paige handed out 6 assists for the game.

01/22/11 This was a game where the Rebels jumped all over the Panthers from NUHS early as we were up 28-8 at the end of the 1st quarter. It was 68-35 after the 3rd quarter and we pulled of the press and finished with an 89-52 win. The Rebels met all five of their system goals in this game: shots 80 (86); 3 points shots 30 (35); offensive rebounds 33% (36%); forced turnovers 25 (31); more shots than opponents +20 (+23). We talk constantly about meeting our goals to attain the final goal of a victory. Lauren Bengen had a career night as she scored 33 points. She shot 45% from the floor, which included 5 of 11 from the arc for 46%. She was also 10 for 11 at the free throw line for 91%. Paige Thompson finished with 12 points, Emily Snider 10, Addi Kickbush 9, Emily Dinsdale 8, Jenna Roeding 7, Emily Stoakes 6, and Erin Wentzien 4. Leaders in other stats were Paige Thompson with 8 assists, Addi Kickbush 4 steals, and Emily Stoakes with 7 rebounds.
