Spartans score season sweep of G-R girls, 69-65 GRUNDY CENTER - Five players scored at least nine points and Grundy Center got the job done at the free-throw line in the fourth quarter to hold off a hard-charging Gladbrook-Reinbeck girls' basketball team, 69-65, in NICL West Division play Tuesday night. The Spartans (6-7, 5-3) led by 13 entering the fourth quarter before making just enough free throws to seal their second straight win. Heather Hook shared game-high scoring honors with 21 points to lead Grundy Center. Sarah Frisch helped out with 13 points, Abby Graves had 11 and Madi Bowen added a season-high 10 points in the conference win. Sam Meyers chipped in nine points as the Spartans got the season sweep over G-R, having beaten them 74-64 in Reinbeck in their first meeting. The Rebels (7-6, 3-5) sustained their second loss in a row despite Paige Thompson's 21 points. Lauren Bengen had 12 points, Emily Dinsdale 10, Jenna Roeding nine and Addi Kickbush eight.
