Grundy Center 40, Gladbrook-Reinbeck 24 GRUNDY CENTER - The Spartans limited two of Gladbrook-Reinbeck's top scorers to nearly nothing and earned the regular-season split with the Rebels, 40-24, in Tuesday's NICL West Division rematch. Grundy Center (5-7, 4-4) held G-R's Parker Bolt to just five points and Colby Luethje went scoreless. Those two Rebels combined for 31 points in G-R's win in the first meeting between rivals. Jacob Smoldt's nine points led Gladbrook-Reinbeck (5-7, 4-4), and Logan Petersen added six in the loss. Jordan Curren had a game-high 11 points to go with six rebounds, four assists and three steals for the Spartans. Nathan Schmadeke added 10 points and seven rebounds, while Austin Appel had seven points and seven boards. Grundy Center trailed 11-9 at the half before outscoring G-R 18-9 in the third quarter and 13-4 in the fourth. The Spartans host BCLUW on Friday night while G-R entertains East Marshall.
