Cougar rally relies on 3 in G-R’s house REINBECK - AGWSR overcame a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter thanks to six 3-pointers, forcing overtime and ousting the Gladbrook-Reinbeck boys 59-55 Tuesday in NICL West Division basketball. Gladbrook-Reinbeck broke a 22-all halftime tie by outscoring the Cougars 17-7 in the third. AGWSR went the first 6 minutes of the second half without scoring but got hot in the fourth frame. Bryce Eichmeier made three of his six 3-pointers in the fourth period, Jordan Mills made two more and Josh Bagley had another as AGWSR erased the Rebel advantage.Eichmeier finished with a team-high 18 points, Tanner Heikens had 15 points and Bagley 13 in the win. Jacob Smoldt made four 3-pointers on his way to a game-high 19 points to go along with six rebounds for G-R (1-2, 0-2). Parker Bolt had 17 points, eight rebounds and seven blocked shots, and Colby Luethje had 11 points and six boards. The Rebels host Grundy Center on Friday night as former head coach Jason Kirkpatrick makes his return to Reinbeck as the rival Spartans’ head coach.
