A G-R football player does more than make tackles,or pass a ball. They work hard in their academics, but they also do a lot with football. This is about the pregame, the halftime, and the post-game. During the pregame (which start directly after school),the players are invited to a spaghetti supper, courteous of the football parents. The spaghetti is served by senior parents at the United Church of Christ in Reinbeck.Players can relax and talk while they eat a good meal. The players love the food, and enjoy going there every Friday after school. After they eat, some go home,or they go to the parking lot at the high school, and talk or play catch. Then, the players get on the bus,and get ready for the game. At halftime, the players go down to the locker room and “meditate ” about the first half, good and bad.The coaches talk to the team, putting motivation into the players. The team gets pumped, and go out for the second half. During the post-game,if G-R wins the game, they celebrate. They yell very loudly and talk, but it ’s a lot different if they lose.If they lose, they don ’t talk, but if they do they aren ’t very positive comments.Throughout this season, the G-R football team has done amazingly, and let ’s hope they win more games!
