Gladbrook Commercial Club The Gladbrook Commercial Club’s first meeting of the new year will be Thurs., March 4th, at 6:30 p.m. at the Uptown Lounge. There will be a drawing for a free meal from paid up membership dues. Let’s have a great turnout as we begin a new “decade”.

Gladbrook Young Women Flower Bulbs The Gladbrook Young Women are selling FLOWER BULBS. Some of the bulbs available are Lillies, Gladiolus, Dahlias, Phlox, Hostas, Lily of the Valley, Freesias, Daylillies and Coneflowers. All proceeds go to activities for the children in the community such as the Easter Egg Hunt and the Halloween Party. Orders must be placed by March 7th. If interested call Jackie at 641-473-2729. Community Breakfast Garwin Revitalization Committee will sponsor a Community Breakfast Sunday, March 7, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Garwin City Park Shelter House. Menu includes Belgian waffles, scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy, sausage, toast, coffee, milk, and juice. This is a free-will offering. ALL proceeds go towards the new Popcorn Stand (Concession stand).

Gladbrook-Lincoln Senior Citizens Gladbrook-Lincoln Senior Citizens will meet for a NOON meal Friday, March 12, 2010 at the Gladbrook United Methodist Church. Please call Marcella Lemke at (641) 473-2924 by Monday, March 8 with reservations. NO table service is necessary.

Gladbrook Jr. Auxilairy The Gladbrook Jr. Auxiliary will meet on Sat., March 6th, 9:30, at Westbrook Acres. The Juniors will be making favors for the Iowa Veterans Home. Chairmen are Joan King, Shannon Wright, and Karen Eggers.

Gladbrook Legion & Auxiliary The Gladbrook Legion & Auxiliary will be celebrating the 91st birthday of the American Legion. The potluck will begin at 6:00 p.m. (Note time change) on March 8th. City officials will give a program on the emergency generator at the Memorial Building. Girl & Boy Staters will be our guest and Darrell Meyer will give a patriotic address. The Cub & Boy Scouts will be presenting their Charters. It will be a very entertaining and informative dinner meeting. Hostesses are Maxine Bottema, Cindy Eggers, and Andrea Warren.

Library Coffee Time Stop in and join us every Friday afternoon at the Gladbrook Public Library at 2 p. m. for coffee and conversation. We might even discuss a book or two. Bring a friend and hopefully brighten your day and ours!! Pat & Karen

Common Bonds Caregivers Support Group Iowa River Hospice hosts a caregivers group Common Bonds developed to nurture caregivers on March 15th @ 2pm. Each day can be a challenge for the caregiver but you are not alone. All are welcome-meets every 3rd Monday at Villa Del Sol in Marshalltown in the 200 Hall Lounge.

Merchants Appreciation Coffee Gladbrook Women’s Club invites all area merchants and employees to an appreciation coffee, Thursday, March 18 from 7-9 a.m. at the City Center. Local business owners support many community activities, and this isGladbrook Women’s Club’s opportunity to say “Thank You.”

Westbrook Acres Memorial Service Westbrook Acres will hold their Annual Memorial Service to honor those who have entered into eternal life this past year on Wednesday, March 24, 2:30 p.m. at Westbrook Acres. Fellowship and refreshments will follow the service.

Crayon Corner Learning Center Registration Crayon Corner Learning Center will hold registration on March 4 & 11 from 4 to 8 p.m. for infants thru school age children at Crayon Corner located at Gladbrook School.

Connections Support Group NEW Group- Connections an informal meet & eat group. Meets the last Monday of each month. March 29th 5:30 - 6:30pm @ Iowa River Hospice Home-502 Plaza Heights Rd Marshalltown Enter through the bottom entrance(staff entrance). *Dinner to be provided. **This group is intended for those dealing with the recent loss of a loved one.
