Kids have you marked your calendars and told your friends about the 2nd annual Gladbrook Holiday Activities on Sat., Dec. 12th. The same day as the Lions Soup Day, free movie, and another chance to see the beautiful Festival of Trees. Kids from 3-12 will enjoy a “Christmas Stroll with Frosty”. Kids or parents & kids will start their stroll at the Gladbrook Memorial Building between 9-10 a.m. There you will pick up a picture of Frosty and some clues as he takes his stroll through Gladbrook’s Main Street with your help. At each “place’ your clues lead you, you will receive a sticker for you map and a surprise or treat. Everyone that completes the holiday stroll will pick out a prize at the their last stop and their “Frosty’ picture will be placed in the drawing for a grand prize winner. The winner will be announced the following week and receive his/her grand prize along with getting your picture taken for the Northern-Sun. Frosty’s stroll is jointly sponsored by the Gladbrook American Legion Auxiliary and the Gladbrook Commercial Club. The Gladbrook Theater will be hosting free Christmas movies on Dec. 12th as well at 12:30 p.m. “Frosty’s Winter Wonderfland” followed by “Twas The Night Before Christmas” will be shown. The City Center is home to the Festival of Trees so make sure you stop in and see the wonderful holiday displays and trees. The Festival of Trees are open daily from 1-9 p.m except Thursday 1-4 p.m. You can enjoy the trees through January 1st, but the City Center will be closed Dec. 24th & 25th. While the kids are busy doing their holiday stroll, parents you will have a chance to do some Christmas shopping in Gladbrook. Come and enjoy the fun and have a hot bowl of delicious soup and pie at the Gladbrook Lions Soup dinner.
