Angel Trees All family applications for Angel gifts & boxes must be turned in by November 15 (deadline date). Please apply through local churches, MICA, or by calling (641) 473-2928. Those wishing to adopt an Angel, please select from church Angel Trees or call Pastors. December 19 will be pack and delivery of Christmas Boxes for Garwin, Gladbrook, and Lincoln families.

Free Blood Pressure Check Gladbrook Public Library Stop by the library on Friday, November 13 for a free blood pressure check. Angie Knaack from Grundy County Hospital will be here at 1:30 p.m. to accommodate anyone wanting this done. We’d be glad to have you stay for a cup of coffee afterwards too!

Festival of Trees Start thinking about ideas for that special Christmas tree to be a part of the Festival of Trees. The Gladbrook Tree lighting will be on Tues., Nov. 24. Trees for the festival will need to be in place by Sun., Nov. 22.

Gladbrook Jr. Auxiliary The Gladbrook Jr. Auxiliary will meet on Sat., Nov. 21st at 9:30 at Westbrook Acres. The group will be making table favors for the Senior Citizens. Chairmen are Sherry Scarf, Michele Wegner and Melissa Sienknecht. .

Badger Hill Cemetery Annual Meeting Badger Hill Cemetery will hold the Annual Meeting Thursday, November 12, 7:30 p.m., at the Gladbrook Ambulance Building.

Gladbrook Women’s Club The regular meeting of the Gladbrook Women’s Club will be at the Karen Lage home on Nov. 12th at 1:30. Program will be Evolution of the Apron. Please bring an apron or an apron story. All Holiday Happenings ticket sales and money must be turned in at the meeting or prioir to. Executive board meeting will be at 8:30 Nov. 9th at the Gifts of Grace.

Tama County Livestock and Fair Association The Tama County Livestock and Fair Association will hold the November Meeting on Monday, November 23, at 7:00 pm at the Tama County Extension Office in Toledo. Superintendents, Please bring judges info for next fair. Everyone is invited to attend.

Library Coffee Time Stop in and join us every Friday afternoon at the Gladbrook Public Library at 2 p. m. for coffee and conversation. We might even discuss a book or two. Bring a friend and hopefully brighten your day and ours!! Pat & Karen

Gladbrook Young Women Winter Garage Sale The Gladbrook Young Women will be hosting a WINTER GARAGE SALE. The sale will be Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Gladbrook City Center. This will be open to those wanting to have a garage sale, sell crafts and to home based vendors. $10 per booth. If interested please call Jackie at 641-473-2729 by November 30th, 2009.

Olivet Lodge #436 A.F. & A.M. Olivet Lodge #436 A.F.& A.M. will meet Thursday, November 12th. Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Please bring a dish to share. Meeting at 7:30 p.m. Gladbrook Gals and Guys T-Braids The Gladbrook Gals and Guys 4-H club will have our annual T-braid fundraiser this winter. We’ll be spending two days as a club preparing T-braids to sell to the community. What is a T-braid? It’s a pastry with a butter/cinnamon-sugar filling, decorated with frosting and sprinkles. We make them about a foot long and sell for $5. Order forms will be available November 8; please contact a club member to place your order. The braids will be ready to deliver December 5th. Place your orders soon, the number made is limited! Crayon Corner Fundraising Meal Crayon Corner Learning Center fundraising meal. November 15th from 11-1, at Peace Church. Meal is a Baked Potato Bar, Dinner Salad, and dessert. Free will donation.
